  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Information Technology Director, serves as the primary point of contact, computer resource, systems analyst, project coordinator and advocate for the Copley Hospital clinical departments. Also serves as a point of contact, computer resource and advocate for all other Copley Hospital departments. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.


    • Provide support for Electronic Medical Records System hardware including configuration and troubleshooting of Electronic Medical Records Systems equipment. Maintain Electronic Medical Records Systems system configurations.
    • Analyze, coordinate and assist with the development, testing, maintenance and education for clinical systems such as flow sheets and electronic forms.
    • Assume special projects as directed and document them appropriately.
    • Attend meetings and seminars as directed.
    • Communicate changes/new initiatives and key issues to director, physicians and staff,Ask for assistance as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by the director.
    • Provide after hours on-call coverage in accordance with department rotation
    • Provide Electronic Medical Records System training to individuals and/or groups in formal or informal settings.
    • Provide support for all clinical Electronic Medical Records Systems applications.
    • Research technologies to improve performance and reliability of hospital wide information flow.
    • Support proprietary and industry standard interfaces between clinical equipment, servers, software and outside entities.


    Education Requirements:
    4 year degree in health care or technology related field.


    Education Desired:
    BS in information systems or equivalent work experience.


    Experience Requirements:
    Minimum two years clinical experience and two years systems analyst experience in a healthcare or healthcare related environment. Cross department project management experience.


    License and Certification Requirements:
    Recent nursing experience, active license not required


    License and Certification Desired:
    MCSE, active RN or LPN license


    Skill Requirements:
    In depth knowledge of EMR. Experience with database and programming languages. Experience administering interfaces.


    Skill Desired:
    Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team with staff at various levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail.
