Overview

The Security & Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of general security and maintenance tasks including; responding to security events, code green situations, assisting Nursing with potentially aggressive behaviors, ensuring campus security, and general repair, in all hospital buildings.

 

This is a Night position with an anticipated schedule of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Thursday through Tuesday.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to calls for security assistance (code Green & Active Shooter)
  • Respond to Code Red situations
  • Monitor security camera system
  • Maintain a presence at the main entrance to the Hospital and Emergency Department entrance
  • Patrol once per shift to the Terrace, Mansfield Orthopaedics, Demars Building, Tractor Shed, Health Center Building and through the parking lots around the Hospital
  • Provide staff with escort to their vehicles as requested
  • Respond to access lock-out situations
  • Check Facilities monitoring systems for medical gas, fire panel, panic alarm system, boiler room, emergency generator, and building management
  • Respond to calls for light duty facilities issues such as, basic plumbing issues, light bulbs, door and lock issues and determine if Facilities needs to be call in
  • Clear snow & treat doorway entrances as necessary

Qualifications

Education Requirements

High School or vocational school graduate.

 

Education Desired

EMT Certification - Preferred

 

Experience Desired

Some experience in hospital, school or institutional setting.

Previous security or law enforcement experience
