Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville, Vermont, is seeking a Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities

  • Staffs the functions of the department in accordance with the hospital budgetary guidelines.
  • Controls drug purchasing costs by soliciting bid prices for non-contract items, utilizing National Purchasing Agreements and controlling outdates; establishes pricing structure for pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures the continuing education and training of the Department.
  • Establishes work schedules and assigns personnel.
  • Develops interdisciplinary communication with the Medical Staff.
  • Establishes procedures to ensure that medications are distributed to patients of the hospital in accordance with existing state and federal laws.
  • Ensures the records are maintained in accordance with these laws.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with PharmD or RPH.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Current Vermont licensure in good standing with no restrictions or stipulations.
  • Registered pharmacist in the State of Vermont.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a hospital setting.

  • Strong administrative, computer and clinical skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, quality management and team building expertise.

  • Prior management experience desirable.

  • Must be familiar with USP Chapters 797 and 800 regulatory requirements for compounded sterile products and hazardous drugs (chemo), computer skills, technical and clinical pharmacy practice.
