The Assistant Food Service Manager will support the Food Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hospital’s food service department. Additionally, they will work closely with hospital management and administration, to provide leadership and mentorship to department staff. This role also involves ensuring that high-quality, nutritious meals are provided to patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Assist in Daily Operations: Support the Food Service Manager in the day-to-day operations of the food service department, including meal preparation, serving, and sanitation.
Staff Supervision: Supervise and train food service staff, including cooks, servers, and kitchen aides. Schedule shifts and manage time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality and presentation of food served, ensuring it meets hospital standards and dietary requirements. Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies. Track and control food costs to adhere to budgetary constraints.
Patient and Staff Interaction: Address and resolve any food-related concerns or complaints from patients, staff, or visitors. Collaborate with dietitians to ensure dietary needs and restrictions are met.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to food service operations, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and staff training documentation.
