Overview

Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is looking for an Accountant to join our team! Seeking an experienced Accountant to  join our six-member team to provide general accounting functions for various entities within Copley Health Systems.

 

This is a Full-Time position (PT available).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares journal entries, researches budget variances, posts cash receipts and other monthly postings.
  • Maintains schedules for balance sheet and other miscellaneous accounts.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly financial statements for Copley entities.
  • Maintains, updates and reconciles fixed asset subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis.
  • Reconciles all cash accounts on a monthly basis and maintains daily cash balance for operating cash accounts.
  • Assists with preparation of annual budget with Copley management and Copley Hospital financial services.
  • Prepares schedules for year-end audit. Provides information for preparation of 990’s.
  • Serves as a back up resource, and provides assistance to others as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Accounting with experience in the health care field preferred.
  • B.S. in Accounting with experience in hospital or long term care accounting desired.
  • Three years of accounting experience which includes financial statement preparation, development of financial reporting, and monthly closing routines.
  • Good understanding of health care accounting and understanding of governmental regulations pertaining to nonprofit organizations.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency required
