Overview

Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT,  is looking for a Painter/Carpenter to join our team! Under general supervision, apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect exterior surfaces, fixtures of buildings, and structures throughout the facility.

 

This is a Full-Time position (PT available).

 

Copley Hospital has a variety of shifts available across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Temporary needs with day and evening shift availability. Please consider applying to discuss how your availability may align.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint.
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings.
  • Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers, and apply paint with a cloth or brush.
  • Stain, seal and varnish wood surfaces.
  • Setting up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and supplies from work vehicle.
  • Spreads drop clothes to protect equipment and surrounding areas.
  • Cleans paint applicators, equipment, and work sites after painting jobs are completed.
  • Moves furnishings, equipment, and other obstacles to complete painting jobs, as needed.
  • Removes fixtures and other items from walls.
  • Utilizes hand tools such as hydrometer, disk sander, wire brush, scaling gun, needle nose, crescent wrench, and pliers in the performance of the job.

  • Ability to work on your own or as a team
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
