Overview

Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT,  is looking for a Maintenance Technician - Level I to join our team! This general maintenance worker will perform maintenance repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including minor plumbing, minor electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

 

This is a Full-Time position (PT available).

Responsibilities

  • Clear sink and grease trap, assemble non-medical equipment.
  • Sometimes it is required to move supplies, furniture and equipment, removing trash and scrap materials.
  • Conducts routine safety and preventive maintenance inspections to ensure that services are maintained without interruption.
  • Patch and paint walls, rooms, machinery and other surfaces.
  • Monitors and maintains all HVAC-related equipment such as air handlers, pumps, steam humidifiers, chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment and related building automation to HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Adding fittings and fixtures such as door handles, hinges, locks, and closures.
  • Constructing and installing building frameworks, structures, and fixtures, such as walls, floors, door frames, windows, molding, cabinets, and shelves.
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials.
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
  • Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
