Copley’s Inpatient Med Surg Unit is a 21 bed acuity adaptable unit serving medical/surgical and progressive care patients. The scope of service includes providing post-operative surgical care for patients who have undergone orthopedic joint replacements, abdominal surgery, genitourinary surgery, as well as medical management for diabetic, cardiac, gastrointestinal, trauma, neurological, and respiratory patients requiring admission. Patients may be monitored by telemetry. Progressive care patients need close monitoring and frequent assessment, but who aren't unstable enough to require ICU care. Delivery of age specific, direct patient care. The RN provides nursing care to patients utilizing the Nursing process and within the framework of the Department of Nursing Standards of Patient Care and Specialty Specific Standards of Patient Care. The RN assumes leadership responsibilities, which includes delegation of work to other levels of employees. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care. The Environmental Service Professional will perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain the hospital in a sanitary state. The Women’s Center has a midwifery program, with 4 highly qualified midwives and a full time OB/GYN. We are a collaborative practice with 24/7 OB/GYN coverage by CNMs and MDs (full time provider and locums). Performs all aspects of Respiratory Therapy. Performs Simple Spirometry, EKGs, Infant hearing screening and arterial puncture and capillary collection for blood gas determination. Forensic Nurse Examiners (FNEs) conduct forensic examinations of victims of sexual assault in a compassionate manner. A forensic exam may include a medical-forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation and referrals for appropriate follow-up support.   This is per diem position wherein the FNEs enter into a pool of FNEs that will work together to respond to calls as needed.
